The simplest method possible

You want to add some text

  1. Scroll to the bottom of the relevant page.
  2. If there is a comment box there, type your text and click "Post It".
  3. If there isn't a comment box, click "Discuss". You can then create a new post.
  4. Your text will appear in the comments section at the bottom of the page. A moderator may copy it into the body of the page if appropriate.

You want to add a picture (or other file)

  1. Scroll to the bottom of the relevant page.
  2. Click "Files".
  3. You may now upload a file from your computer.
  4. Your file will be downloadable by clicking "Files". A moderator may copy it into the body of the page if appropriate.

Editing the body of the page

  • Start by scrolling to the bottom of the page and clicking "Edit".
  • You may utilize the buttons for easy editing such as adding a table, making text bold, or inserting images.
  • If you prefer to insert your own code, here is a quick guide and the full list of Wikidot codes. Commonly used features are described below as well.

Inserting a link

Adding citations

  • You can read about the code here.
  • Alternatively, to use the toolbar:
  1. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Edit".
  2. In the text edit box, click on the location that you would like to create a citation. It will look like [1] (or whatever number you are on; it will calculate this automatically).
  3. Click the [n] button in the Edit toolbar.
  4. This text will pop up where your cursor was:
    [((bibcite label))]
  5. Replace "label" with a name, such as "hossein" (it can be anything you like).
  6. Scroll to the end of the editable text (i.e. scroll all the way down in the edit box).
  7. If there is not already a bibliography there, in the Edit toolbar, click the Bib button.
  8. You will see this text appear:
: label : full source reference
  9. Replace "label" with "hossein" or whatever name you chose previously.
  10. Replace "full source reference" with the way the citation should look. Here is an example.
  11. Repeat the process to add a different citation. When you add new references to the bibliography at the bottom of the page, it will look like this:
  12. You're done! You can reference "hossein" again at another point in the page. In this example, two of the references have been used twice.
